I am an associate professor of econometrics at the University "G. d'Annunzio" of Chieti-Pescara. I have affiliations with the Catholic University of America in Washington D.C. and the Regional Research Institute at West Virginia University.
After completing my doctoral studies at the University of Rome - Tor Vergata, I spent time at various international institutions including the Department of City and Regional Planning at Cornell University, the Regional Economic Application Laboratory at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and at the GeoDa center at Arizona State University. I also held a position as assistant professor at Universidad Catolica del Norte in Chile.
Currently, I am a member of the editorial board of Letters of Spatial and Resource Sciences and the Journal of Spatial Econometrics and a fellow of the Spatial Econometrics Association.
My research interests include spatial econometrics and statistics, urban and regional economics, computational methods and software development. In particular, I have developed two R libraries for the application of GM methods in spatial econometrics (sphet), and the estimation of spatial panel data models (splm).
My research has appeared in many professional journals and I have recentely co-authored a book on Spatial Econometrics published by Elseviere.
